How did I get here?

I was born in Eastern Canada, in Québec to be precise. I now live in Croatia and I love it here! The sea, the hot Summers and mild Winters. What a dream… not so much for learning the language. “Kako si?” could this be further away from French and English… ouffff.

If you read until here, great! I am now getting into the why Bloum part. Because I want to give you new sustainable alternatives for your beauty routine. Sustainability to me, means products that are sourced and disposed with a closed loop system. I have a zero waste approach. At the end of the lifecycle the product and packaging have to readily-biodegrade OR recycle forever. If neither of these conditions are met, it doesn't make it into the assortment. It also means products that are made by happy people. Because work should be fun and should be adding onto our lives, not take away from it. Lastly, it means that the products you use deliver on their promise of healthy and good looking hair. I have spent a few years developing the range that you can find on the web shop. It was important to me to test the products on all hair type and real users. This way I could be sure the formulas would deliver the expected results.

Why solid?

The inconvenient truth about plastics… One more time for the people in the back

Everyday, about 1.5 million shampoo bottles end up in landfills. That includes the ones we take care of rinsing, sorting and recycling. In fact, most plastic is recycled only 2-3 times, so this is why shampoo bottles will finish their life in the garbage. Plastic packaging consumption directly contributes to micro-plastic pollution. As plastic degrades over 20-500 years, it never fully disappears, it just gets smaller and smaller.

That’s why we make solid hair care: no need for plastic bottles. Solid also means that you get a concentrated product that requires no water for production and uses 4-5x lower transport emissions vs. liquid shampoo. Pretty neat! But what about your hair? Our vegan bars are made to make your hair naturally healthy. We use only ingredients approved for natural cosmetics and plant oils that nourish hair from within. Be it straight, wavy or curly, our bars make your hair feel stronger and healthier.
